Having visited Hillcrest Park-and-Ride in Antioch very recently, I have seen first-hand how the median of CA Highway 4 between Pittsburg/Bay Point and Antioch has transformed into a train line, similar to Interstate 580 between Castro Valley and Dublin/Pleasanton. More fascinating to imagine now is how the new eBART line will spur further economic and residential growth in extreme eastern Contra Costa County, especially in communities like Antioch, Brentwood, and Oakley. You will now see the initial stops eBART will serve east of Pittsburg/Bay Point BART, as well as, what I suspect would be the departure times out of Pittsburg/Bay Point and Antioch. |
Spanning roughly 10 miles long, eBART will operate with eight (8) Stadler diesel multiple-unit trains that can run in either 1- or 2-car units. This new rail line will replace approximately half of Tri-Delta Transit's Line 300 (between Pittsburg/Bay Point BART and Antioch eBART) and a reasonable section of Line 391 (between Pittsburg/Bay Point BART and Pittsburg Center eBART). eBART's schedule will mirror the current BART schedule on the Pittsburg/Bay Point - SFO Airport/Millbrae line, with trains operating:
Three stations have been built along the eBART line, with a possible infill station located somewhere in Antioch, including:
- Every 15 minutes weekdays from 4am to 7pm
- Every 20 minutes weeknights, weekends, and holidays

Based on the schedules flashed at Antioch eBART, trains will leave Hillcrest Park-and-Ride for Pittsburg/Bay Point at :10, :25, :40, and :55 past the hour weekdays, while weeknight and weekend departure times are still to be determined. However, per BART's website, available details on this project are as follows:
